Privacy, security, and AI safety counsel for the fuzzy future.
“As you wish.”— Westley
Where are you headed?
The business of technology is rarely a straight line. The terrain shifts, the light changes, and sooner or later the map runs out. New opportunities appear. Old assumptions fail. The destination moves. The best we can do is keep moving forward with open eyes, good people, cold beverages, and genuine excitement about what might be around the next corner. That is the work. That is the point.
I help software companies navigate the legal terrain where privacy, security, and safety requirements converge. My practice spans commercial contracting as well as privacy, security, and safety compliance. I bring firsthand experience across fintech, health tech, legal tech, and Indigenous organizations, having worked in private practice, in-house counsel, and compliance roles. This professional experience includes time embedded within marketing, sales, security, and product teams. My background in software product development shapes an agile, technology-forward approach to professional services.
I have worked at the intersection of law and technology since 2008. Called to the bar in 2009 and a practising member of the Law Society of British Columbia, I pair deep technical fluency with extensive qualifications across law, information systems, privacy, and information security. That combination is not accidental. It is what lets me meet my clients where the real work happens. Let’s work together to get there.
Onwards.
